About Mary
I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and since I was very little the ocean has always held a special place in my life. It brings me peace and satisfaction. It's my favorite place to meditate and connect to God, Earth, and the Universe.
Ever since I can remember I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. It has always been my favorite art form. This passion led me to the US where I received my B.F.A in Fashion Design from Miami Int'l Univ. of Arts and Design.
My love for the ocean then took me on a search for the perfect swimsuit and soon I found very little sustainable options in the market that catered beyond 3 or 4 sizes. I wanted a swimsuit that could tell a story. Something with personality, high quality, and sustainable; but I could not find it in a size XL. And so this line was born. After years working for the apparel industry in New York City, the pandemic led me back to Miami and here I found so much inspiration.
I aspire to create a brand that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering of all women. A safe space to love yourself as you are. Wanna join?

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes! We ship worldwide! Rates vary depending on location and will be calculated at checkout.
HOW CAN I TRACK MY PACKAGE?
Once your package is shipped you will receive an email notification with a tracking number. Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for tracking numbers to become visible on the mail carrier's website.
CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER ONCE IT HAS BEEN SUBMITTED?
We work hard to get your order out as quickly as possible. Once an order is submitted, it swiftly progresses through our shipping stages, and we are unable to make any changes to the order.
CAN I HAVE MY ORDER REDIRECTED TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS?
Once an order has shipped and is in transit, we will not be able to update your shipping address. If you have made a mistake in your shipping address please contact us immediately at customerservice@marymercedesswim.com. We can correct it only if the order has not yet shipped.
WHEN WILL I GET MY ORDER IF I CHOOSE FREE SHIPPING?
Your order will ship within 48 hours from Miami, FL. The typical timeframe for FREE shipping is 4 - 8 days, depending on your specific location. Please note FREE shipping is only available for the US.
WHEN WILL I GET MY ORDER IF I PAY FOR FASTER SHIPPING?
Expedited orders placed before 12pm EST Monday - Friday will ship on that same day. If the order is placed after the 12pm EST cut off, it will ship the next business day. Delivery time will depend on your choice of shipping, we have expedited options for UPS 3 day select, 2nd day air, and next day air.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
Unworn and unwashed items with their dust bags and with all tags and hygiene liners still attached will be accepted for a full refund if shipped back within 15 days of receipt. If shipped after 15 days items will be refunded in the form of store credit. No returns are accepted after 30 days.
EXCHANGES: Free exchanges within 30 days of delivery date.
All returns must be approved before you ship them back.
All return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer and will be deducted from the final refund, unless you are performing an exchange. We will cover shipping charges on exchanges.

I ORDERED A PREORDER ITEM. WHAT'S NEXT?
SIZING AND PRODUCT INFORMATION
If you purchased an item that is on preorder, the product page will contain your 'ship by' date. If there are non-preorder items purchased within the same order, all items will ship out on the 'ship by' date. If you'd like to receive non-preorder items sooner, we recommend making separate orders to avoid delay.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY REFUND?
Refunds will be issued within 2 business days of receiving your return.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FIT TIPS?
Most of our swimsuits fit true to size, so you can feel confident reviewing the Size Guide. That being said, we do have a few fit tips to help you find the perfect fit:
FABRIC STRETCH:
Our solids have a bit more stretch than our Gingham printed fabric, so if in between sizes we recommed to size up, on the gingham printed swim shorts specially.
UNDERWIRE BRAS:
Our balconette bikini bra, Ruby, has less coverage and runs smaller than the Olivia bikini top, which has a fuller cup and fits more true to size. So if you are a cup D or larger, we recommend to size up when buying the Ruby bikini top.
BUST SUPPORT:
How supportive are the tops on larger busts? Depends on the style. Structured tops with wire and padding offer the most support. Also wearing all straps (shoulder and halter) at the same time on the convertible styles, can offer significant support. One piece styles offer the least support.

WILL MY SWIMSUIT DECOMPOSE AS I WEAR IT?
No. All our swim is biodegradable, however, it will only decompose after it reaches a landfill environment. You can wear your swimsuit for as many years as you'd like with no risk of decomposing.
WHEN ARE YOU RESTOCKING?
It depends. Because our collections have very destinctive themes, we rarely do restocks. However, when items have exceptionally high demand (like Moe!) we do our best to restock within 4-10 weeks of selling out.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY SWIMSUIT?
Here's our top tips to get the longest life out of your swimsuits!
Rinse in cold water immediately after wearing to remove chlorine, saltwater, sunscreen and/or natural body oils.
Hand-wash your bathing suits in cold water with a gentle soap. Do not bleach or put swimsuits in the dryer.
Do not hang, lay flat to dry instead. It gives the fabric a chance to reshape.
Do not iron.

All of our bathing suits, except our gingham print, are made with Amni Soul Eco, a groundbreaking biodegradable nylon that decomposes within 3-5 years in landfill conditions.
The fabric is dyed using reusable water processes and provides UPF 80+ sun protection.
RECYCLED POLYESTER
Our gingham print is made with recycled polyester, produced with yarn recycled from PET bottles. For every 1 meter of fabric, 6 PET bottles are taken from nature.
